Intact Litigation

Protecting Children's Rights Through Constitutional Challenges

At Intact Global, we are dedicated to advancing the civil and constitutional rights of all children to be free from genital mutilation. Our Intact Litigation initiative is at the heart of this mission. We fund legal challenges across the United States to ensure that every child's right to bodily integrity is protected under state constitutions.

Our Legal Strategy

Focus on State Constitutions

Our legal strategy focuses on leveraging state constitutions to secure equal protection for all children, regardless of gender. By challenging laws and practices that allow genital mutilation, we aim to set legal precedents that uphold children's rights to bodily autonomy and protection from harm.

Collaboration with Law Firms

We collaborate with experienced law firms and legal experts who share our commitment to ending genital mutilation. One of our key partners is The Clopper Law Firm, P.C., who will bring forward groundbreaking cases that challenge existing norms and practices.

Current and Upcoming Cases

Fundraising for Our First Legal Challenge

We are currently fundraising for our first major legal challenge in Oregon. This case aims to address the legality and constitutionality of neonatal circumcision and other forms of genital mutilation under Oregon's state constitution. Our legal team, composed of Eric Clopper & Peter Adler among other attorneys, is diligently preparing to set a precedent that will protect children's rights to bodily integrity and autonomy.

Seeking Plaintiffs and Lawyers from 41 Separate States For Future Challenges

Intact Global is actively seeking plaintiffs and lawyers in 41 states for future legal challenges. We are committed to expanding our efforts and bringing constitutional challenges nationwide. By partnering with dedicated legal professionals and courageous plaintiffs, we aim to create a significant impact and drive change at both state and national levels.

We need attorneys licensed in each of the following states to participate. Further, we need a plaintiff who was circumcised after the date that state’s anti-female-genital-mutilation (“FGM”) law was enacted.

NOTE: If you are a “Regret Parent” who circumcised your son and later learned that circumcision is male genital mutilation and “regret” that you allowed a physician to cut your boy, then you can still bring a legal challenge on behalf of your son, as long as your son is not older than the “Oldest Viable Plaintiff” column.

If you are interested in participating as an attorney or a plaintiff, please reach out to us here.

Together, we can ensure that all children are safeguarded from these harmful practices.
