About Che Johnson
Che Johnson is a Marriage & Family Therapist with JustBTherapy in California and serves as Intact Global’s Community Development Director. He is the author of “Infant Genital Mutilation: The Trauma of the Surgical Gender Stamp,” which argues that forced genital mutilation is a form of sexual trauma as defined by the DSM-V.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Johnson worked in the recording industry as an audio engineer and music licensing manager for companies like Warner Bros. and Disney. He holds a master’s degree in psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, where he served as President of The Black Student Union, and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
Johnson is actively involved in several organizations, including the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, SGI-USA, Project Angel Food, and the Debbie Allen Dance Academy. As a queer Jewish Black man whose family has experienced legal and social changes firsthand, Johnson is committed to advocating for children’s rights and bodily autonomy as part of his broader vision for justice.
Johnson brings years of experience in advocacy and non-profit management and is dedicated to advancing Intact Global’s cause.
